FALL/WINTER OPEN SWIM HOURS (TO BEGIN NOVEMBER 5TH, 2014):
MONDAY/WEDNESDAY/FRIDAY: 10AM-2PM & 5PM-7PM
TUESDAY/THURSDAY: 7AM-9AM, 12PM-2PM & 5PM-7PM
*Natatorium is closed during intercollegiate practice and competition, during announced special events, and on holidays (including University holidays).
THE FOLLOWING AQUATICS CLASSES WILL BE OFFERED THIS FALL:
Class Description: the objective of this class is to familiarize the participant with the water, and to establish a level of comfort both in shallow and deep water. Students will also be introduced to the fundamentals of both freestyle and backstroke.
Session 1: 9/8-9/29
Class times: Mon & Wed, 5-5:45pm
Class Description: Thisprogram is designed for those individuals who are already capable swimmers (can complete at least 2 lengths comfortably without stopping), and are familiar with the basics of the strokes (at least freestyle and/or backstroke). This course will work to improve technique and efficiency in both freestyle and backstroke. Students will also be introduced to the other competitive swim strokes, as well as flip turns.
Session 1: 10/6-10/27
Class times: Mon & Wed, 5-5:45pm
Program Description: this ongoing program is intended for proficient swimmers (capable of completing at least 4 lengths continuously; knowledgeof all 4 competitive strokes is not required, but preferred). While this program will integrate some stroke drills and form correction, the main purpose of the UDC Intramural Swim program is to allow individuals to engage in a fitness/endurance activity within a group setting.

Practice times: Mon & Wed, 5:45-6:45pm
Class times: Mon & Wed, 6-7pm
All classes/programs are free to UDC Student/Staff/faculty; classes are also open to non-UDC affiliates at a cost of $7 (per/session)- if you sign up for a 4-week program, you must pay the full-cost ($56) up front, prior to the first session. Please note: UDC students/staff/faculty will be given priority for classes if the class has reached capacity.
The Beginner & Intermediate Swimming classes will only be run with a minimum of 4 people; the class capacity is 8. Classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Natatorium features a 25 yard pool with six lanes, a separate diving well with two 1 meter diving boards, a spectator grandstand, offices, and locker rooms.
Use Information, Rules, Regulations, and Other General Information:
Students, faculty and staff of the University of the District of Columbia Flagship and Community College campuses may use the Natatorium at no cost. Valid University ID is required at all times, and there are no exceptions to this policy. Each UDC ID card-holder is entitled to bring up to 2 guests at no cost. All additional guests are required to pay the $7 guest fee.
Individuals not belonging to the University may use the Natatorium during designated hours through purchase of a 20-use pass for $100.00. Passes may only be shared by immediate family members, and all family members wishing to use the pass must be identified on the form at the time of sign-up.
Pass users are permitted to sponsor guests at the cost of $7 per guest, per visit. Both the guest and his or her sponsor must sign a waiver prior to using the facility.
Individual daily use passes are also available at $7 per use.
Children ages 8 and under may use the Natatorium for free, and any child age 16 or under must be accompanied by an adult.
20-use punch passes and guest passes may be purchased at the Natatorium during operating hours only.
Both pool pass and photo ID must be presented to staff upon entering the Natatorium.
All users must bring a lock and towel. Locks must be removed after each use.
