June 3, 2010 Ellison and Munson Garner Independent School's Honorable Mention Recognition UDC Firebirds basketball players Tim Ellison (Alexandria,V A/Edison HS) and Nigel Munson (Washington, DC/Dematha H.S.) were recently cited by the Conference of Independent Schools (ICAA) for their performance during the 2009-10 season, with Honorable Mention recognition . Ellison, a junior guard, averaged 18.9 ppg, 5.8 rpg and 1.8 -3ppg during the season, while Munson, a sophomore guard, averaged 19.2ppg, 5.0 rpg and 4.3 apg.

February 27, 2010 Tim Ellison Scores Career-High 29 Points as UDC Falls to Central State, 85-62 Wilberforce, Ohio: February 27, 2010-Junior guard Tim Ellison (Alexandria, VA) scored 23 second half points in a valiant effort to lead the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds in a comeback as they fell to Central State University Marauders, 85-62, this afternoon at Lewis Gymnasium. Trailing by 14 at the break, Ellison elected to shoulder the burden of trying to bring his team back by adding to his 6 point first half scores for his total of 29. It would not happen, as Central went on a second half scoring tear winning by a margin of 23 points.

February 24, 2010 Apprentice Men's Hot Shooting Downs UDC, 73-54 Hampton, VA: February 24, 2010-The Apprentice School's Eric Joe had the hot hand tonight, shooting 12-22 field goals, 4-8 three-pointers and 2-3 free throws, to score a game- high 30 points in leading the Builders past the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Men's Basketball Team, 73-54, tonight at Hampton University's Holland Hall.
