UDC Tennis Player Tomas Gajdusek Named to NCAA Division II Men’s-East Singles Team

Washington, DC: May 27, 2010: The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), which is the governing body of college tennis, overseeing men's and women's varsity tennis at NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA and Junior/Community Colleges has announced that Tomas Gajdusek (Prague, Czech Republic/Gymnazium Nad Stolou), a sophomore tennis player for the University of the District of Columbia has been named to the 2010 NCAA Division II Men's-East Singles Team.  

This was the second major tennis recognition received by Gajdusek this year. He was also named the 2010 East Coast Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Year in April.

Gajdusek compiled a perfect 11-0 record at the No. 1 singles spot including a 2-0 mark against conference opponents. He teamed up with fellow teammate and All-Conference recipient Mahmut Demirkol (Istanbul, Turkey/Ozdemir Sabanci Emirgan Lisesi) in No. 1 doubles to finish the regular season with a 6-6 record.
