Wilfred Chemallan to Compete for NCAA Cross-Country National Championship

Wingate, NC: November 4, 2006—University of the District of Columbia Cross-Country runner Wilfred Chemallan finished in 3rd place at the NCAA Division II 2006 Cross-Country Southeast Regional, today, in Wingate, North Carolina, to qualify as an individual runner to compete in the National Championship Meet in Pensacola, Florida on November 18, 2006.

Washington, DC: October 25, 2006—Wilfred Chemallan, a member of the University of the District of Columbia Men’s Cross-Country Team, has qualified to compete in the 2006 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional Cross-Country Meet on November 4, in Wingate, North Carolina. There are 36 member schools in the southeast region and only the cream of the crop have qualified to compete in this event.
Wilfred Chamellan Wins Fourth Straight Meet

Frederick, MD: October 21, 2006-- Wilfred Chamellan (Kenya) earned another first place win while competing for the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Cross-Country Team, today, in the Hood College Invitational in Frederick, Maryland. Chamellan finished the 5K Run in 16:20 minutes. It was his fourth 1st place finish of the 2006 season. UDC's Eewonou, Aziakonou (Togo) finished in 14th place with a time of 19:24
Wilfred Chamellan Outpaces All Others to Win Bowie State Homecoming Classic

BOWIE, MD: October 13, 2006—University of the District of Columbia sophomore Wilfred Chamellan (Kenya) continued his winning ways by out distancing all other runners to capture 1st place in the Bowie State Homecoming Classic, today, in Bowie, Maryland. Chamellan finished the course in 25:50 minutes. It was his third win of the season, after capturing 1st place in the Virginia State Series #1, and the Bowie State Invitational earlier. His victory enabled UDC to win the overall Meet with 28 points. Bowie State finished in 2nd place, and Columbia Union College came in 3rd place.
UDC Takes 2nd Place In VSU Classic Series #2

Petersburg, VA: September 14, 2006—The cool, rainy weather in Petersburg, Virginia today did not deter the UDC Firebirds Men’s Cross-Country Team from giving it their best as they finished in second place in the Virginia State University’s Cross-Country Classic Series #2. The Virginia State University Trojans won the overall event with an average of 31:58.80 minutes.
UDC Men’s Cross Country Team Wins VSU Country Series #1

Petersburg, VA: September 9, 2006— University of the District of Columbia, cross-country runner, Wilfred Chamellan (Sophomore-Nandi Hills, Kenya) won the Virginia State University Country Series #1, 8k Run today in Petersburg, Virginia. Chamellan finished the course in 28:10.00 minutes, earning first place in the event. It was the first event for the Firebirds in the 2006 season. New Head Cross-Country and Track & Field Coach Marc J. Harrison said, “ This was an excellent event that signaled UDC’s return to running competition with rivals VSU, Bowie State and Virginia Union”.
