UDC's Hillary Mugun Wins Third Consecutive Men's Cross-country Meet
Bowie, MD: September 15, 2010-- University of the District of Columbia Cross-country stand out sophomore Hillary Mugun ( accounting -Nandi Hills, Kenya) won his third consecutive cross-country race besting opponents to finish the course in 25:27 minutes. Mugun, an All-American transfer from IUP, set a new course record during the meet.
Two other UDC runners finished in the top four. UDC junior Linus Kosgei (nursing -Kapsabet, Kenya) finished in third place with the time of 26:44, and sophomore Zephahiah Koech (accounting-Nandi Hills, Kenya), finished in fourth place with the time of 26:50.
UDC won the overall meet with 31 points, followed by host Bowie State with 33 and Washington Adventist with 70. UDC will compete next in the University of Delaware Invitational in Newark, DE on Saturday, September 18.
