UDC Men’s & Women’s Cross Country to Compete in East Coast Conference Championships

Brookville, NY – The UDC Cross Country Men's and Women's teams will compete this Sunday, October 23rd in Brookville, NY for the East Coast Conference Championships.  With a competitive first year in the ECC, the Firebirds have built a strong foundation as they gear up for the ECC Championships. 

Led by All-American junior Hillary Mugun (Nandi Hills, Kenya), the UDC Men's Cross Country team hopes to finish strongly in the ECC Championships after a positive season in the ECC.  Seniors Linus Kosgei (Kapsabet, Kenya) and Justin Chemallan (Nandi Hills, Kenya) have contributed to the Firebirds' improved season, as have junior Zephaniah Koech (Nandi Hills, Kenya) and sophomore Dorrelle Smith (Daytona, FL).

The UDC Women's Cross Country team is led by senior Kaneesha Hollis (Centreville, MD) and junior Callister Jones (Fort Washington, MD), who have competed admirably in the ECC this season and look to turn in strong performances in the Championships.  Also competing for the Firebirds are senior Latoya Allen (Washington, DC), junior Clarice Melvin (Lanham, MD), sophomores Areial Clark (Kennesaw, GA) and Kaydian Jones (Kingston, Jamaica), and freshmen Tatyana Commock (Washington, DC), Shelby Lambert-Chapman (Washington, DC), and Kimoy Mais (St. Andrew, Jamaica).
