UDC LADY FIREBIRDS LOSE TO PITT-JOHNSTOWN LADY MOUNTAIN CATS 83-59
Johnstown, PA: The University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds ended their 2005-06 season tonight losing to the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown 83-59, in Pennsylvania. UPJ started the game with an 11-0 point run that ended when UDC got on the board at the 17:14 mark on a Robin Williams lay-up, with an assist by Jaime Brown.

FLORIDA GULF COAST LADY EAGLES DEFEAT UDC LADY FIREBIRDS 78-42
Ft. Myers, Florida: Leaving no doubt in anyones mind about their intent, the 12th ranked Lady Eagles of Florida Gulf Coast University throttled the University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds 78-42 at home in the championship game of the Independent Schools Tournament this afternoon. Holding the Lady Firebirds to 20 % (14-69) shooting, Florida went on to take the championship and possibly raise their visibility among the ranks of schools seeking a berth in the NCAA Division II South Region Playoffs.

Ft. Myers, Florida: The University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds defeated the University of Puerto Rico-Bayaman 60-58 tonight to advance to the championship game of the Independent Schools Tournament in Ft. Myers, Florida.

UDC LADY FIREBIRDS SINK CENTRAL STATE LADY MARAUDERS 56-44
2/24/2006 Ft. Myers, Florida: Their first trip to the Independent Schools Tournament was a very pleasant one for the Lady Firebirds of the University of the District of Columbia where they defeated the Central State University Lady Marauders 56-44 in the first round of the Tournament this afternoon. Central jumped out to an early lead that lasted until the 7:12 mark of the first half before UDC tied the score at 16 on a lay-up by Robin Williams.

UDC LADY FIREBIRDS DOWN DAVIS & ELKINS LADY SENATORS 81-69
Elkins, West Virginia: Although the UDC Lady Firebirds trip to West Virginia was fraught with dangers from a heavy snowfall, that did not deter them from their appointed task to avenge a painful one point, last second, early season loss, at home, to the Davis & Elkins Lady Senators. UDC left Elkins with a sweet victory, 81-69, in basketball action.

UDC LADY FIREBIRDS LOSE IN OVERTIME TO COLUMBIA UNION LADY PIONEERS
Washington, DC: An early lead at the start of the game would not be enough as the University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds could not hold on and eventually lost to the Columbia Union College Lady Pioneers 78-82, in overtime, this afternoon at home. UDC jumped to an 11-2 lead in the opening minutes of the game and maintained the lead until Columbia Union tied it 32-32 with 2:20 remaining in the first half.

UDC LADY FIREBIRDS DEFEAT MANSFIELD LADY MOUNTAINEERS
Washington, DC: After a sluggish start, the University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds found some new energy and went on to defeat the Mansfield University Lady Mountaineers 71-53, tonight at home. The Mountaineers took an early lead and maintained it until the 13:01 mark, when UDCs Jennifer Jones hit a jump shot to tie the score at 11. From that point on UDC led until Mansfield tied it 22-22 at the 5:44 mark.

UDC LADY FIREBIRDS COULD NOT PULL TRIGGER ON ANDERSON COLLEGE LADY TROJANS
Anderson, SC: An out of state trip to Anderson, South Carolina to take on the Anderson College Lady Trojans did not help the UDC Lady Firebirds establish a winning streak tonight, as they fell to the Lady Trojans 79-85. After their win over St. Pauls College last Saturday, the Lady Firebirds were hoping to establish a streak tonight that could be maintained through the remainder of their season.

UDC LADY FIREBIRDS DEFEAT ST. PAULS TO WIN FIFTH GAME OF 2005-06 SEASON
Washington, DC: The University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds raised their level of play this afternoon at home to defeat the Saint Pauls College Lady Tigers 71-61. UDC came out determined to prevent Saint Pauls from replicating their early season win over them. The Lady Firebirds raced to an early lead of 4-0 at the 19:02 mark of the first half and continued to stretch it to 19-7 at 11:19 of the half, on a lay-up by Robin Williams.

Slippery Rock, PA: The University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds notched their fourth win of the season tonight, when they defeated the Slippery Rock University Lady Rockets 64-58 in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.

HOLY FAMILY LADY TIGERS GET PAST UDC LADY FIREBIRDS 63-59
Washington, DC: Holy Family University came into town tonight with a 6-1 record, seeking to extend that to 7-1, and achieved that goal at the expense of the University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds. Holy Family hit 58 percent of their two point field goals during first half, which propelled them to a 42-25 half-time lead.

UDC LADY FIREBIRDS LOSE CLOSE ONE TO BLUEFIELD STATE LADY BLUES
Washington, DC: Playing a more aggressive game, the UDC Lady Firebirds could not put away the Bluefield State College Lady Blues losing to them tonight at home 68-77. UDC led at the break 36-25, but allowed Bluefield to catch-up and take the lead with 3:37 left in the game and the score 63-61.

LADY FIREBIRDS LOSE CLOSE CONTEST TO ALASKA-ANCHORAGE
The University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds lost a close contest to the University of Alaska-Anchorage by the score of 66-60 tonight in Anchorage. It was the Lady Firebirds first cross-country basketball competition trip and the excitement and jet-lag took its toll. After the lenghty flight, the Lady Firebirds needed additional time to loosen-up and make the game competitive.

ANDERSON COLLEGE LADY TROJANS DROP UDC LADY FIREBIRDS
Washington, DC: The Anderson College Lady Trojans allowed the UDC Lady Firebirds to hang tough with them for a few minutes early in their basketball contest today, but then gradually pulled away to defeat them by the score of 88-71 on UDCs home court.

UDC LADY FIREBIRDS HAND CHEYNEY STATE LADY WOLVES SECOND DEFEAT
Cheyney, PA: The University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds defeated the Cheyney University Lady Wolves 67-58 tonight in Cheyney, Pennsylvania for their second win over them this season. UDC led Cheyney 28-25 at the break, with only 30 percent of their shots finding the target.

UDC LADY FIREBIRDS LOSE TO MILLERSVILLE LADY MARAUDERS
Washington, DC: The Millersville Lady Marauders defeated the University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds basketball team 84-58 tonight in Millersville, Pennsylvania. Millersville jumped out to an early lead and did not look back. At halftime they led UDC 44-19, shooting 51% to UDCs 28%.

Lawrenceville, VA-November 22, 2005: St. Pauls College defeated the University of the District of Columbia in doubleheader games tonight in Lawrenceville, Virginia. The Lady Firebirds fell to the Lady Tigers in the first game of the evening by the score of 61-68.

UDC LADY FIREBIRDS FALL TO DAVIS & ELKINS
Washington, DCThe University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds lost their opening season game tonight to the Davis & Elkins Lady Senators by the score of 58-59 on a last second three pointer by guard Kate Bright (Richmond, VA). UDC jumped out to an early 12 point lead and ended the 1st half leading 33-24. In the 2nd half, Davis & Elkins closed the gap, and trailed by only one point with 1.3 seconds remaining after a UDC foul. After taking an inbound pass, Bright turned to the basket and launched a three point shot that hit nothing but the net, draining the life out of the Lady Firebirds.
