UDC Women's Basketball Team Ranked 20th in This Week's Poll

Washington, DC: With a 15-2 season record, the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds
Women’s Basketball Team moved up two positions to the # 20th spot in the USA Today ESPN Division II
Top 25 Coaches Poll this week. The Firebirds are on an eight game win streak after defeating the University
of the Sciences Philadelphia, 63-33, this past Saturday.

Led by senior guard LaQuanda Brandon (Washington, DC), who is averaging 13.9 ppg, and sophomore
center Lillian McGill (Sumter, SC) averaging 13.5 ppg, the Firebirds look to extend their win streak
next week when they play the Columbia Union College Pioneers in Takoma Park, Maryland.

UDC competes as an NCAA Division II Independent school. The Firebirds won the 2008 Independent Schools Tournament last year and received 17 votes in the 2008-09 Pre-season USA Today/ESPN Top 25 Coaches Poll.
