UDC Women's Basketball Receives Votes in National Pre-season Poll
The University of the District of Columbia Women's Basketball Team received 32 votes in the recently released USA TODAY ESPN Division II Top 25 women's basketball poll. The votes symbolizes the respect accorded the team following their 2008-09 season performance, after receiving an invitation to the 2009 NCAA Division II National Women's Basketball Tournament.
UDC Head Women's Basketball Coach Lester L. Butler, Jr. said, "I think receiving votes for the Top 25 is well deserved based on what we accomplished last year, finishing the year 24-5 and making an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. It's a lot of great teams in the Top 25 and with us continuing to work hard we plan on being a mainstay in those rankings."
