    BROOKVILLE, N.Y. – Facing the Preseason favorites LIU Post for the second time this season, The University of the District of Columbia women’s basketball team defeated the Pioneers 64-62. The Firebirds were excellent in the fourth quarter coming back from an eight point deficit. Senior guard Natasha Roy led the Firebirds with a season-high 27 points, nine of which came on 9-of-11 shooting from the free throw line.

    Dobbs Ferry, NY – The University of the District of Columbia women’s basketball team played well leading in most statistical categories, but fell short at Mercy College 66-62 on Saturday afternoon. The Firebirds outrebounded the Mavericks 44-39, led in assists 13-11 and dominated second chance points 16-2. UDC was led in scoring by senior guard Mia-Alexis Lloyd who scored 15 points. Junior guard Tyra Coombs scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for her 4th double double of the season. Sophomore guard Maya Thomas added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Sophomore Mia Boyd forward almost recorded her first double-double by scoring nine points and grabbing a season high nine rebounds,
