  • Firebird Women’s Lacrosse teams up with the One Love Foundation

    WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia women’s lacrosse team joined countless individuals, colleges and universities in support of the One Love Foundation. Founded in 2010 to honor University of Virginia women’s lacrosse student-athlete Yeardley Love who was brutally beaten to death by her boyfriend just weeks before her graduation, the mission of One Love Foundation is to end relationship violence. The Foundation conducts educational workshops on college campuses designed to help young men and women understand the warning signs of unhealthy relationships.

    WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia Women’s Lacrosse team will be entering into their 5th season this spring under new Head Coach Cassandra Haase. With the Firebirds eager to start their season, Coach Haase has appointed three captains this year to lead the program. Sophomore midfielder Kianna Franklin, sophomore goalkeeper Jada Foy, and junior midfielder Amy Rock will all take on the role of captaincy.
