    Lady Firebirds End Season with Sweep of Lady Hawks Washington, DC :April 28, 2007-- The Lady Firebirds were in good form today as they ended their spring 2007 season by sweeping the Lady Hawks of Chowan University 8-0 at home. The victory brought the collegiate playing careers of seniors Nerissa Peterson-Paul and Edith Chidi to an end.

Capturing singles and doubles matches en route to victory, the Lady Firebirds were determined to get this win under their belt.

    Tennis Teams Fall in North/South Duels WILSON, NC : MARCH 24, 2007---- Stiff competition and lack of numbers contributed to the losses suffered by the University of the District of Columbia Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams this weekend during the North/South Duels Tournament in Wilson, North Carolina. Neither team was able to win a match as they fell to NCAA DI and DII schools in the Tournament.

    Lady Firebirds Top Lady Bears 8-1 WASHINGTON, D C : MARCH 12, 2007—The University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds Tennis Team opened their home 2007 season today by defeating the Shaw University Lady Bears 8-1 on the UDC Tennis Courts. The Lady Firebirds won all singles matches and won two of three doubles matches, to improve their season record to 1-2, and gain their first win of the season.

    Russie B. Alexander Named New Men's & Women's Tennis Coach Russie B. Alexander has joined the staff as Head Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach. He comes to UDC from the Fairfax County Public School System (VA) where he serves as a full-time physical education teacher.
