UDC Women’s Tennis Earns Five ECC All-Conference Honors
Washington, DC—The UDC Women's Tennis Team earned five ECC All-Conference Awards. These honors include two First Team and Second Team selections and the Coach of the Year award.
Junior Kristyna Nepivodova and Sophomore Jessica Nunez were named First Team All-Conference. Nepivodova had an overall record of 6-1 in singles play and 7-1 in doubles, winning her last six games to finish out the season. Nunez went a perfect 7-0 in singles and 5-2 in doubles play through the year, showing her young talent.
Freshman Maxime Duijst and Senior Maria Vitkina also picked up honors as they were both named Second Team All-Conference. Duijst had a singles record of 5-2 and a doubles record of 7-1. Vitkina also had an impressive year going undefeated in singles play, 8-0 and 5-3 in doubles.
Then for the second year in a row UDC Women's Head Coach T. Richard "Dickie" Mahaffey III picked up a Coach of the Year Award. Last year he was named the Men's Tennis Coach of the Year. Coach Mahaffey led his team to a 8-0 record, earning them the No. 1 seed in this year's conference tournament.
