Areial Clark threw her personal best of 12.7m at Raleigh Relays

Raleigh, NC: March 26, 2011- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Outdoor Track & Field team competed in the North Carolina State University Raleigh Relays on March 25-26, in Raleigh, North Carolina.  This was one of the largest, most competitive track meets in the Southeast. Sixty-one women's teams participated, in addition to professional athletes running unattached.

The highlight of the event for UDC was freshman Areial Clark (Business Management-Kennesaw, GA) throwing a personal best of 12.7m and finishing  11th in the women shot put, in a field of 41 throwers. Senior jumper Dicoda Waugh (Business-Kingston, Jamaica) also finished 11th in her field of jumpers.

Despite the chilly temperatures, the Team performed well overall.

The Firebirds return to the oval on April 9, at the Johnson C. Smith Invitational in Charlotte, North Carolina.
