BALTIMORE, MD - The University of the District of Columbia women's track and field squad competed in the Morgan State Legacy Meet on Saturday, April 21st. The team was not at full strength, however, as the Firebirds were preparing for Thursday's Penn Relays event.

The Legacy Meet was the last meet of the year for several Firebirds, as head coach Alton McKenzie takes only a select group to compete on the grand stage that is the Penn Relays.

"We're at the tail end of a very long season," McKenzie said. "We're eagerly anticipating strong performances from our remaining athletes who are still competing with the Penn Relays coming up along with a few Last Chance Meets for athletes with NCAA Provisional qualifying times. The Penn Relays' carnival-like atmosphere speaks for itself, so we're going with a small group, but with the mindset that it's a very competitive group looking to perform very well."
