August 17, 2009 Jasmine Rogers Named UDC Head Coach for Men's & Women's Cross-country and Women's Track & Field Teams Washington, DC—The University of the District of Columbia has named Jasmine Rogers as its new head coach for men’s & women’s cross-country and women’s track & field. Patricia Thomas, director of athletics at the University made the announcement stating, “Jasmine will be extremely effective progressing into coaching from her outstanding career as a scholar-athlete. I am proud to have her join the Firebird family."

July 7, 2009 Erica Nixon Named to USTFCCCA Division II All-Academic Team New Orleans, LA: July 6, 2009-- Erica Nixon, a sophomore sprinter for the University of the District of Columbia Women’s Track and Field Team has been named to the 2009 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II All-Academic Track & Field Team.

May 24, 2009 UDC Track & Field Team Performs Well in NCAA Championships Finals, Returns With Seven All Americans San Angelo, TX: May 23, 2009—The University of the District of Columbia Outdoor Track & Field Team performed well in the 2009 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships Finals in San Angelo, Texas, today. Although none of the component teams or individual runners won their particular event, they gave it their best in representing the University. UDC had seven All American performances, including senior sprinter Maurisa Williams' becoming a three- time All American, while senior sprinter Cottrell Martin and sophomore sprinter Saleena Green picked up their second in outdoor track & field.
