Petersburg, VA: November 1, 2010-- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volleyball Team ended their regular season on a high note tonight, defeating the Virginia State University Trojans, 3-0, in Petersburg, Virginia. Senior middle hitter Karen Trevino (Political Science-Anthony, NM) closed out her regular season playing career leading the Firebirds to the win with 12 kills, 2 service aces, 12 digs. and a .880 career hitting average.

UDC Defeats Bridgewater, Falls to St. Mary’s at Tournament
St. Mary's MD: October 29, 2010-- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volleyball Team won their first match then lost a closely played one tonight at the St. Mary's College Seahawk Invitational Tournament in St. Mary's, Maryland. Senior middle hitter Karen Trevino (Political Science-Anthony, NM) posted a double of 13 kills and 12 digs to lead the Firebirds to a, 3-0, win over the Bridgewater College Eagles in their first match of the Tournament.

Washington, DC: October 28, 2010-- In a high spirited match, the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volleyball Team celebrated Senior Night by defeating the Bowie State University Bulldogs, 3-0, tonight at the UDC Sports Complex in Washington, DC. Senior middle hitter Karen Trevino (Political Science-Anthony, NM), playing in her final home match, paced the Firebirds to victory with 11 kills , 1 service ace, and 3 digs.

Baltimore, MD: October 23, 2010-- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volleyball Team swept the College of Notre Dame Gators Tournament, today, in Baltimore, Maryland. UDC first defeated Notre Dame 3-0, then handed Marywood College a 3-2 defeat.

Washington, DC- October 16, 2010-- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volleyball Team put up a good fight as they fell to the St. Mary's College Seahawks, 3-0, today, at the UDC Sports Complex in Washington, DC. Sophomore outside hitter Grace Perilli (Economics- Nashville, TN) led the Firebirds effort with 6 kills, 2 service aces and 3 digs.

Washington, DC: October 7, 2010-- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volleyball Team completed its season sweep of the Goldey Beacom Lightning, defeating them, 3-0, tonight at the UDC Sports Complex in Washington, DC. UDC improved their season record to 15-4, with this win, while Goldey Beacom fell to 4-11.

Richmond, VA: September 30, 2010-- Senior middle hitter Karen Trevino (Political Science- Anthony, NM) paced the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volleyball team to a , 3-0, sweep of the Virginia Union Panthers, tonight, in Richmond, Virginia. Trevino led with 13 kills, 18 attacks, 1 service ace, 4 digs and 1 solo block in an outstanding performance. UDC improved to 13-4 with this win.

UDC Sweeps Washington Adventist, 3-0, for Second Time in as Many Weeks
Takoma Park, MD: September 27, 2010-- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volley Team defeated the Washington Adventist University Shock, 3-0, for the second time within as many weeks tonight at the Pit on the Adventist Takoma Park, Maryland Campus. Two Firebirds, senior middle hitter Karen Trevino (Political Science-Anthony, NM) and junior outside hitter Mirella Nunes (Business-Sao' Paulo, Brazil) tallied 15 kills apiece in leading the team to the win. Set scores for the match were, 25-8, 25-9 and 25-2.

Wilmington, DE: September 18, 2010-- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volleyball Team played a very aggressive offensive game and applied a stifling defense to dominate the match and hand the Goldey Beacom Lightning a, 3-0, defeat today in Wilmington, Delaware. The Firebirds won the match with scores of 25-10, 25-9, and 25-18, to improve their season record to 7-4.

Washington, DC :September 14, 2010-- Outside hitter Vanessa Garley (Business major-Rio Rancho, NM) paced the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volleyball Team to a, 3-0, win over the Washington Adventist University Shock tonight at the UDC Sports Complex in Washington, DC. Garley scored a match-high 16 kills, 6 service aces and made 5 blocks in the winning effort. The set scores were 25-6, 25-1 and 25-5.

Lauderdale, Fl: September 11, 2010-- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volleyball Team lost two matches today at the NOVA Southeastern University Shark's Tournament in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The University of Minnesota- Duluth defeated the Firebirds, 3-0, with scores of 25-13, 25-15, and 25-14, in their first match of the day.

Ft. Lauderdale, FL: September 10, 2010—The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women’s Volleyball Team lost two matches today at the NOVA Southeastern University Shark’s Tournament in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. The Firebirds fell to the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns, 3-0, in the first match, and then succumbed to the host NOVA Southeastern Sharks, 3-0, in the second match. The Firebirds fell to 5-2 for the season with these losses, the first this year.

Junior outside hitter Vanessa Garley (Business major-Rio Rancho, NM) paced the Firebirds to the win tallying 12 kills.

Livingstone, NC: September 4, 2010-- With three players tallying double digits in matches against St. Paul's and Livingstone Colleges on Saturday, the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volleyball Team captured the Livingstone Tournament Championship by sweeping both teams, 3-0, for the title. Grace Perilli (business major-Thompson Station, TN) , Karen Trevino (political science major-Anthony, NM) and Vanessa Garley (business major-Rio Rancho, NM) provided the scoring leadership for the Firebirds.

UDC Sweeps Virginia Union, 3-0, in Volleyball
Washington, DC: September 2, 2010-- The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Volleyball Team defeated the Virginia Union University Panthers, 3-0, tonight, in their season opener at the UDC Sports Complex. The Firebirds swept the Panthers in 3 sets with scores of 25-14, 25-14 and 25-12 in the high spirited contest.
