Kichwen Finishes 4th in Norfolk Invitational

Virginia Beach, VA: October 6, 2007— Firebird sophomore standout James Kichwen suffered a hip injury around the second mile of the Norfolk State University Invitational in Virginia Beach, Virginia today, but still managed to finish in 4th place among the MEAC and CIAA elite runners.

Norfolk States’ Hillary Cheruiyot posted a 25:49.00 finish to take 1st place in the Meet. UDC’s Wilfred Chemallan finished 6th in 28:16.00, Ebrima Danso 33rd (33:34.00), and Perrot Simo 39th in 40:44.00. UDC finished in 6th place overall.

The Firebirds will be back in competition on Friday, October 12, at the Virginia State University Last Chance Meet in Richmond, Virginia.
