Hillary Mugun Finishes 1st among DII Runners at Delaware Meet, Kaneesha Hollis Led UDC Women's Team
Wilmington, DE: September 18, 2010-- University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Cross-country runner Hillary Mugun, a sophomore accounting major from Nandi Hills, Kenya, finished in 1st place, today, among Division II schools at the University of Delaware Invitational in Wilmington, Delaware. It was Megun's 4th first place finish in as many meets this season.
Mugun placed 3rd overall, running the hilly 8k course in 25:44. Teammates Linus Kosgei (Junior Nursing major-Kapsabet, Kenya) and Zephaniah Koech (Sophomore Accounting major-Nandi Hills, Kenya) finished in 6th and 7th place, respectively, among Division II schools.
The women's portion of the Meet saw UDC's Kaneesha Hollis (Junior- Criminal Justice major-Centreville, MD) finish 22nd among Division II schools, with the time of 23:26.12, followed by sophomore Callister Jones (Marketing major-Fort Washington, MD) , who finished in 23:34.20.
The Firebirds Cross-country Teams return to the course on Saturday, September 25, at the Towson University Invitational in Towson, Maryland.
