District of Columbia Women’s Basketball Picked 2nd in ECC By Division II Bulletin

BEAVERTON, OR – The University of the District of Columbia women's basketball team was picked to finish second in the East Coast Conference this season in the 2012-13 Women's Division II Bulletin Preseason Preview issue. 

District of Columbia, which finished 21-7 (12-4 ECC) will have a new look with just one starter returning. The Firebirds will be youthful but talented as four quality recruits will replace seven departed seniors. University of D.C. returns scoring threat Janelle Junior (9.3 ppg, 2.7 rpg) and ECC All-Rookie Team selection Denikka Brent.  The Firebirds finished last season with a trip to the NCAA tournament.  Defending ECC Champion Dowling (22-7) was picked to finish 1st this season.
