China Jude Named New Women's Volleyball Head Coach

Washington, DC-- University of the District of Columbia Athletics Director Dr. Harold M. Merritt has announced the appointment of China Jude to the dual positions of assistant director of athletics/senior woman administrator and head women’s volleyball coach. She joined the UDC staff officially in May. Dr. Merritt says he is extremely pleased and fortunate to have someone of Jude’s caliber working with him as they assume the responsibility for revitalizing the UDC athletics program.
Volleyball Team Wraps Up Season

The UDC Lady Firebirds Volleyball team completed its Fall Season with a 2-5 record. Although the team did not have a winning season, obscured by the record is the pride with which the Lady Firebirds competed throughout very difficult circumstances.

Lincoln, PA-September 20, 2005: The University of the District of Columbia “Lady Firebirds” Volleyball Team overcame a persistent Lincoln University “Lady Lion” team to win by the score of (3-1) tonight in Lincoln, Pennsylvania. The Lady Firebirds won game one of the match (30-27), and then fell to the Lady Lions (21-30) in game two. UDC won the third game (30-26), and went on to win the deciding game (30-24).
