Volleyball Team Wraps Up Season

The UDC Lady Firebirds Volleyball team completed its Fall Season with a 2-5 record. Although the team did not have a winning season, obscured by the record is the pride with which the Lady Firebirds competed throughout very difficult circumstances.

Several games were cancelled due to injuries to key players and the resultant undermanned team. Also, due to conditions beyond their control, the team saw the retirement of their head coach during midseason. However, with the addition of Interim Coach Lester L. Butler, Jr., the team was determined to complete their season.

Team standouts were Sindy Agudelo, Dhalia Pierre, Stephanie Leon, and Jana Hoernan. Dionne Harris, the only senior on the team finished her UDC playing career. The Lady Firebirds weathered their storm and still showed poise on the court. The team envisions an improved record next season.
