UDC Launches Esports Program – Interest Meeting Scheduled for January 24th

Washington, DC – The University of the District of Columbia is thrilled to announce the launch of its Esports program, bringing competitive gaming to student activities and athletics. To kick off this exciting initiative, UDC will host an Esports Interest Meeting on Friday day, January 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the E.B. Henderson Sports Complex (Balcony Level).

This interest meeting is open to all students who are passionate about gaming or interested in joining the university's competitive teams for the following games:

• Overwatch 2
• Rocket League
• Valorant
• League of Legends

Esports is a rapidly growing industry, providing unique opportunities for students to engage in competition, develop teamwork skills, and build a path toward careers in gaming, technology, and media. By joining the East Coast Conference (ECC) Esports division, UDC aims to create a thriving gaming community while fostering excellence both on and off the digital field.
