31 UDC Student-Athletes Earn 2024-25 D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards

WASHINGTON, DC – The University of the District of Columbia is proud to announce that 31 student-athletes have been recognized with the 2024–25 Division 2 Athletics Directors Association (D2 ADA) Academic Achievement Award. The prestigious honor celebrates academic excellence among NCAA Division II student-athletes who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher while completing at least two years of collegiate coursework.

Leading the way for UDC was the track & field program, which had nine student-athletes named to the list. Women's lacrosse followed with six honorees, while men's soccer contributed five—highlighting the department's continued commitment to balancing athletic and academic success.

Other teams represented among the award recipients include:

  • Women's Tennis – 4 honorees

  • Men's Lacrosse – 3 honorees

  • Men's Tennis – 3 honorees

  • Women's Basketball – 2 honorees

This year marks a record-breaking total for the D2 ADA program, with more than 22,000 student-athletes from 202 institutions recognized nationwide.

About the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale

  • Have completed at least two years (four semesters) of college coursework

  • Have been an active member of an intercollegiate athletic team during the previous academic year
