Eight Firebirds Selected to Compete in Second Annual HBCU Lacrosse All-Star Game

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia lacrosse programs will be well represented at the Second Annual HBCU Lacrosse All-Star Game, as eight Firebirds have been selected to participate in the showcase event on June 20 at Hofstra University in Long Island, New York.

The annual event highlights some of the top talent across HBCU lacrosse and brings together the best student-athletes from programs across the country.

On the men's side, Aiden O'Brien and Amarius Sekajipo were selected to compete for Team Legacy. The team will be led by UDC assistant coach Stevens Cadet, who was selected as Team Legacy's head coach for the event.

Myles Henry and Israel Amajioyi were named to Team Excellence after standout seasons for the Firebirds. Henry and Amajioyi will join some of the nation's top HBCU talent as they represent UDC on the national stage.

The Firebird women will also be strongly represented. Jada Williams was selected to compete for Team Magic, while Gabriela Martinez, Grace Hall, and Natalia Perkins were named to Team Royalty.

The selections continue to showcase the growth and success of UDC's men's and women's lacrosse programs, with eight student-athletes earning the opportunity to compete among the best players in HBCU lacrosse.

The Second Annual HBCU Lacrosse All-Star Game is scheduled for June 20 at Hofstra University and will serve as a celebration of the talent, achievements, and continued growth of lacrosse at Historically Black Colleges and Universities.
