UDC Tennis Programs Earn Fifth Consecutive ECC Academic Team of Excellence Awards
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia men's and women's tennis programs continue to set the standard for academic excellence, as both teams were recognized with the 2025-26 East Coast Conference Academic Team of Excellence Award, marking the fifth consecutive year the Firebirds have earned the distinction.
The ECC announced its Academic Team of Excellence Award winners this week, recognizing the conference's top-performing programs in the classroom. Of the 141 teams sponsored by ECC institutions, 117 teams (83 percent) achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher during the academic year.
Once again, UDC's tennis programs led the conference.
The women's tennis team recorded a 3.92 team GPA, the highest GPA of any team in the East Coast Conference, while the men's tennis team posted a 3.81 team GPA, the highest GPA among all men's programs in the conference.
The five consecutive Academic Team of Excellence Awards further demonstrate the culture of achievement established within the UDC tennis programs and reflect the hard work, discipline, and dedication of the student-athletes, coaches, and support staff.
