FIREBIRDS ANNOUNCE 2025–26 MEN’S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia Men's Basketball team has officially announced its 2025–26 schedule, featuring 14 home games and a competitive slate of East Coast Conference (ECC) and non-conference matchups. Under the direction of Head Coach Mike Riley, the Firebirds will look to rise in the standings after being picked 7th in the ECC Preseason Coaches Poll.
UDC will open play on Saturday, October 25, with a scrimmage at Prince George's Community College, followed by a road matchup at Shepherd University on November 2 and an exhibition game at Howard University on November 6.
The Firebirds will officially open the season and make their home debut during the ECC/CACC Conference Challenge, hosted at the UDC Sports Complex on November 14–15. UDC will face Wilmington College on Friday and Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday in front of its home crowd.
Following the home opener, the Firebirds will continue non-conference play with matchups against Virginia State (Nov. 22), Virginia Union (Nov. 26), and Bowie State (Nov. 29) before opening ECC play in December against St. Thomas Aquinas (Dec. 3) at home.
The Firebirds' conference slate features marquee home contests against Mercy University (Jan. 14), Roberts Wesleyan (Jan. 21), Molloy (Jan. 28), Daemen (Feb. 6), D'Youville (Feb. 8), and Queens (Feb. 28).
Road ECC matchups include trips to Daemen (Jan. 9), D'Youville (Jan. 11), St. Thomas Aquinas (Jan. 17), Queens (Jan. 31), and Molloy (Feb. 25).
Postseason play begins with the ECC Championship First Round on March 4, followed by the Semifinals (March 7) and Finals (March 8).
