UDC Men’s Lacrosse Names 2016 Captains
WASHINGTON, DC – University of the District of Columbia head men's lacrosse coach Scott Urick announced junior Chase Fraser and seniors Darien McPhail-Millard and Matthew Marrett have been named captains for the program's 3rd season in 2016.
"I am proud to announce these three as our captains for the 2016 season," Head Coach Scott Urick said. "All three of these young men display excellent energy and enthusiasm, and they will undoubtedly do a fantastic job in their roles as leaders of our program."
Fraser is a two-time East Coast Conference Honorable Mention selection and has led the team in nearly every offensive category the past two seasons. During those two seasons, he has accumulated 72 total points, 58 goals and 14 assists.
McPhail-Millard is a 2nd year transfer midfielder out of Hightstown High School in East Windsor, NJ. After a stellar two-year career at Union County College, he transferred to UDC and started all 11 games for the Firebirds in 2015. He finished with 11 points on six goals and five assists and was 2nd on the team with 56 ground balls.
Marrett was the team's vocal leader on the sidelines last season having sat out the season due to injury. He played on the inaugural 2014 team, playing in all 11 games and making 10 starts. He registered three points on one goal and two assists, 18 ground balls and four caused turnovers.
