Firebirds Explode for 14 Goals in Home Win Over Caldwell

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia men's lacrosse team delivered a dominant offensive performance in its home opener, defeating Caldwell University 14–7 on Wednesday afternoon at the E.B. Henderson Sports Complex.

The Firebirds came out firing, scoring five goals in the first quarter and following it up with another five in the second to take a commanding 10–1 lead into halftime.

UDC's offense was led by Adam Zima, who finished with a game-high five goals, while Kelvin Pham added a hat trick with three goals.

Myles Henry turned in an all-around performance with two goals and four assists, playing a key role in the Firebirds' offensive flow. Amarius Sekajipo also contributed significantly with two goals and three assists, while Aiden O'Brien added two goals in the win.

The Firebirds capitalized on special teams opportunities, converting 5-of-6 man-up chances, helping maintain control throughout the contest.

Defensively, UDC held Caldwell to just one goal in the first half, while goalkeeper Israel Amajioyi recorded 10 saves to anchor the effort in net.

The Firebirds will hit the road this weekend, traveling to Mercy University for a conference matchup scheduled for Saturday at 12:00 p.m.
