Ignacio Lopez Named ECC Offensive Player of the Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. – University of the District of Columbia men's soccer standout Ignacio Lopez has been named the East Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, following a stellar performance that powered the Firebirds to a 2-0 record. Sergio Becerra was also named a prime performer.

Lopez tallied two goals and one assist over the two-match stretch, opening scoring for the Firebirds in both games. He also assisted the game winning goal in the match up against Shepherd University. 

Anchoring the defense, Becerra was dominant in net, recording nine saves while allowing just two goals over two matches. The senior opened the year with a 2-0 record in goal.
