Zicheng Zeng Named ECC Preseason Player of the Year

WEST BABYLON, N.Y.- Zicheng Zeng (Chengdu, China) was selected as the East Coast Conference's Men's Tennis Preseason Player of the Year, as announced by the league Monday afternoon.

Zeng is the coaches' pick for Preseason Player of the Year in his first season competing for the Firebirds. Zeng comes to UDC as a transfer from Division I George Washington University. Zeng was a First Team All-Atlantic 10 selection during his freshman season in 2018-19. In his first action with the Firebirds during the fall portion of this year's schedule. Zeng put together an 8-1 record with a 4-0 mark at No. 1 singles in dual matches. He also was a semifinalist at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) East Region Championship.

UDC was voted to place third in the conference after not competing during the 2021 season.
