Kichwen Places First at Hood Invitational

Frederick, MD: October 20, 2007—Sophomore James Kichwen continued his winning pace today as he posted a 26:42.00 first place finish in the Hood College Invitational at Frederick, Maryland. Kichwen defeated a field of 80 runners in the 8K event, establishing a course record.

Finishing 5th was junior Wilfred Chemellan in 27:48, while junior Ebrima Danso came in 49th posting a 32:06 finish. Ewono Aziakonou finished 62nd in 33:36, and   Pierrott Simo finished 78th in 40:42. UDC finished in 5th place overall with 157 points and a total time of 2:40:54.

This was the last competition of the regular 2007 season, and the Firebirds are prepared to compete at the NCAA Southeast Regional on November 3, in Wingate, North Carolina.
