WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia women's lacrosse team dropped a 23–1 decision to Molloy University in East Coast Conference play on Saturday afternoon at the UDC Turf Field.
Molloy set the tone early, opening the game with a 12-goal first quarter and extending its lead to 17–1 by halftime.
UDC broke through in the second quarter when Najee Gunter found the back of the net off an assist from Grace Hall, accounting for the Firebirds' lone goal of the contest.
On the defensive end, Gunter led the way with three ground balls and three draw controls, while Tamaya Edwards added three ground balls. Goalkeeper Natalia Perkins was busy in net, totaling 12 saves against a high-volume Molloy attack.
