UDC Wraps Up the Regular Season With a 7-0 Win Over D’Youville; Secures Top Seed in the ECC Tournament
WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's women's tennis team secured the top seed spot in the ECC tournament after defeating D'Youville on the UDC Tennis Courts, Saturday afternoon.
The Firebirds have gone undefeated on the season with a perfect 9-0, 5-0 ECC record, winning seven out of their nine matches with a score of 7-0.
After a default win at No. 3 doubles, the Firebirds went on to sweep the doubles point with 6-0 wins at No. 1 and 2. The singles rounds then saw UDC dominating at No. 2, 3,4, and 5 with 6-0, 6-0 victories across the board. Simoné Pärn brought it home for the firebirds with a 6-1, 6-1 win at No.1.
UDC (9-0, 5-0 ECC) will await confirmation of their opponent for the Semi-Finals, which will be determined on Tuesday, October 26th after D'Youville goes head-to-head with Daemen.
