WOMEN'S TENNIS: MATCH DAY PREVIEW 10/1

WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's women's tennis team will head to N.Y. to open conference play against Molloy University.

Scouting UDC Women's Tennis 

• The Firebirds are 2-0, 0-0 ECC on the season.
• UDC is fresh off a 7-0 victory over Millersville
• The Firebirds return 6 players from the 2021-22 season, including three First-Team All-Conference picks (Parn, Sofia Bellucco and Mariona Franco), and a Rookie of the Year (Valentina Briienza)
• UDC Women's Tennis finished the 2021-22 season with a 15-3 overall record. They won the ECC Championship in the Fall of 2021 and was the second seed in the NCAA East Regional Tournament in the spring. 

Scouting Molloy Women's Tennis

• The Lions are 0-4, 0-0 ECC on the season 
• They completed the 2021 season with a 1-7 overall record
• Molloy Athletics just recently hired a new head coach Glenn Nathan

History

The last time these two teams met was on October 9th, where the Firebirds defeated the Marauders 7-0. The all-time record between these two teams dating back to 2009  is 10-2 with UDC winning the last ten meetings.
