WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's women's tennis team takes on Queens College in the ECC Tournament semifinals.

Scouting UDC 

  • The Firebirds ended the regular season with a 6-2, 4-1 ECC record
  • Laura Marie, Célia Bastin and Simoné Pärn were all named to the ECC First-Team, as was announced by the conference office this morning 
  • Bastin was also named Rookie of the Year
  • UDC earned the #2 seed going into the ECC Tournament

Scouting Queens 

  • The Knights are  4-2, 3-2 ECC record
  • Maja Makal and Gabriela Sciarrotta were named to the ECC First-Team and Caroline Hany-Fawzy was named to the second team.
  • Queens earned the #3 seed going into the ECC Tournament

The last time these two teams met was a week ago in their regular season finale, where the Firebirds took the 4-3 win over the Knights. The all-time record is 15-3 in favor of Queens, with UDC winning he last three.
