MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The University of the District of Columbia women's tennis team delivered a dominant all-around performance on Tuesday afternoon, earning a decisive 6–1 road victory over Millersville University.

The Firebirds set the tone early by sweeping the doubles point. At the top spot, Célia Bastin and Polina Zelentsova claimed a 6–4 win over Marian Hayes and Lauren Hayes, while Nadja Zmukic and Lina Benjelloun followed with an identical 6–4 victory at No. 2 doubles. UDC forfeited the No. 3 doubles position but still secured the overall doubles point with two strong performances.

Momentum carried into singles play, where the Firebirds took control across the board. Polina Zelentsova continued her strong form at No. 1 singles, outlasting Lauren Hayes 7-6(3), 6-3 to remain undefeated on the week. Célia Bastin added a straight-sets win at No. 2 (6–3, 6–2), and Lina Benjelloun cruised to a 6–1, 6–0 victory at No. 3.

Rounding out the sweep, Sofia Shaparenko (6–3, 6–2) and Nadja Zmukic (6–3, 6–2) each turned in impressive results at the No. 4 and No. 5 spots, respectively. The Firebirds forfeited the No. 6 singles point due to a short roster but still walked away with a commanding 6–1 team win.

With the result, UDC improves to 2–1 on the season, bouncing back strongly from Monday's home matchup against Jefferson. The Firebirds will return to action later this week as they open conference play at St. Thomas Aquinas College.
