WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia women's tennis team earned multiple East Coast Conference weekly honors, highlighted by Polina Zelentsova being named ECC Player of the Week, while Nadja Zmukic and Sofiia Shaparenko were recognized on the Honor Roll.

Zelentsova led the Firebirds from the top of the lineup, going 2-1 at the No. 1 singles position against a competitive slate of opponents. She opened the week with a resilient three-set comeback victory over West Chester (3-6, 7-6(5), 7-5) before delivering a dominant straight-set win in UDC's conference victory over Daemen (6-1, 6-0). Her only loss came in a tightly contested three-set match against D'Youville. Competing at the top spot in all three matches, Zelentsova's performances anchored the Firebirds' lineup throughout the week.

Zmukic turned in a perfect 3-0 record in singles play, earning straight-set victories in all three matches. She defeated opponents from West Chester (6-1, 6-1), D'Youville (6-0, 6-3), and Daemen (6-1, 6-0), showcasing consistency and control across the week.

Shaparenko contributed across both singles and doubles, finishing 2-1 in singles play and 2-1 in doubles. She earned singles wins over West Chester (6-1, 6-4) and Daemen (6-0, 6-0), while also securing doubles victories at the No. 2 position in both matches. Her all-around performance played a key role in the Firebirds' 2-1 week, including a conference win to close out the regular season.

The Firebirds will now turn their focus to postseason play as they prepare for the upcoming ECC Championships.
