Zelentsova Earns First Team All-Conference Honors; Bastin Named to Second Team

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The University of the District of Columbia women's tennis team was recognized by the East Coast Conference, as Polina Zelentsova earned First Team All-Conference honors and Célia Bastin was named to the Second Team All-Conference.

Zelentsova led the Firebirds from the top of the lineup, posting a 13-6 overall record at No. 1 singles, including a 5-3 mark in conference play. Competing against the conference's top players throughout the season, she consistently delivered key performances and anchored the Firebirds in high-pressure matchups.

Bastin was a steady presence at the No. 2 position, finishing the season with a 9-9 overall record in singles play, including a 4-4 mark in ECC competition. Her consistency and ability to secure important wins played a key role in the Firebirds' lineup throughout the season.

The duo also made an impact in doubles play, teaming up at the No. 1 position to compile an 11-9 overall record and a 5-3 mark in conference play, providing UDC with a reliable pairing at the top of the doubles lineup.

The Firebirds now turn their attention to postseason play as they prepare to face D'Youville in the ECC Semifinal.
