Women’s Track & Field at 2010 Penn Relays, Day 1

 

Philadelphia, PA: April 22, 2010—The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women's Outdoor Track & Field Team competed, today, at the Penn Relays at historic Franklin Field. In the first event of the day for the Firebirds, which was the women's high jump, junior Dicoda Waugh (Kingston, Jamaica/St. Andrew Senior High School for Girls) did not start.

The second event of the day for the Firebirds saw the 4x100 meter relay team finish in 68th place. The team consisted of freshman Shemeia Barnes (Forrestville, MD/Upper Marlboro Senior High School), junior two-time All-American Saleena Green (Kingston, Jamaica/St. Andrew Senior High School for Girls), sophomore Jasmine Rich (Willingboro, NJ/Willingboro H.S.) and freshman Famatta Lewis (Camden, NJ/Woodrow Wilson Senior High School).

The final event of the day was the 4x400 meter relay, in which UDC finished in 60th place. The 4x400 team included, freshman Callister Jones (Fort Washington, MD/Oxon Hill Senior High School), sophomore All-American Latoya Allen (Washington, DC/Dunbar Senior High School), sophomore two-time All-American Kaneesha Hollis (Centreville, MD/North Caroline Senior High School) and Green.
