Saida Burns-Moore Earns 3rd Straight ECC Field Athlete of the Week

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY – The University of the District of Columbia's Saida Burns-Moore earned her 3rd straight East Coast Conference Field Athlete of the Week honor for her performance in Saturday's Lou Onesty Invitational.

 

Despite very cold temperatures on the campus of University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Burns-Moore continued her consistent jumping for the Outdoor season, clearing 1.65M to finish 3rd among 10 competitors. This mark, which is just shy of the NCAA Provisional mark of 1.68M, was 2nd best among collegiate athletes and tops among Division II athletes on the day.

 

Sophomore sprinter Stacy-Ann Rowe also earned Honor Roll distinction for her performance in the 100M and 100M Hurdles. Rowe also braved the elements to run an impressive 12.49s in the 100M and 14.30s in the 100M Hurdles. Her time in the 100M placed her the runner up in Heat 3 and 9th overall among 23 competitors, while hurdles time won her heat, was 3rd among 18 competitors, and tops among Division II student-athletes.

 

The Firebirds are back in action next week at the Hampton Relays on Saturday, April 16th.
