UDC Men's Tennis Close Regular Season with Road Conference Win Over Daemen
AMHERST, N.Y. – The University of the District of Columbia men's tennis team closed out the regular season on a high note, earning a 4-3 East Coast Conference victory over Daemen University on the road.
After dropping the doubles point, the Firebirds responded in singles play with four key victories to secure the comeback win.
UDC picked up its first singles win at the No. 1 position, where Sebastiano Palma delivered a strong performance with a 6-4, 7-5 straight-set victory. Elouan Queguiner followed at No. 2 singles with a 6-4, 6-4 win to even the match.
The Firebirds continued to build momentum as Ambrose Evamy battled back after dropping the opening set to earn a 5-7, 7-6(5), 6-1 victory at the No. 3 spot. Filippo Vatteroni then clinched the match for UDC with a decisive 6-3, 7-6(3) win at No. 4 singles.
Despite falling behind early after doubles play, UDC showed resilience and depth in singles action, winning four of the six matches to secure the conference victory.
