MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TENNIS: MATCH DAY PREVIEW

WASHINGTON, DC- The University of the District of Columbia's men's and women's tennis teams are set to host Millersville in doubleheader on Wednesday, September 28th.

Scouting UDC Women's Tennis 

  • The Firebirds are 1-0, 0-0 ECC on the season.
  • Simoné Pärn made it to the round of 16 at the ITA East Regional Championships
  • The Firebirds return 6 players from the 2021-22 season, including three First-Team All-Conference picks (Parn, Sofia Bellucco and Mariona Franco), and a Rookie of the Year (Valentina Briienza)
  • UDC Women's Tennis finished the 2021-22 season with a 15-3 overall record. They won the ECC Championship in the Fall of 2021 and was the second seed in the NCAA East Regional Tournament in the spring. 

 

Scouting Millersville Women's Tennis

  • The Marauders are 0-0 on the season and competed in the ITA Atlantic Regional Tournament on the 19th.
  • They completed the 2021-22 season with a 15-8 overall record

 

History

The last time these two teams met was on October 13th, where the Firebirds defeated the Marauders 7-0. The all-time record between these two teams is 1-2 with UDC winning the last two meetings. 


Scouting UDC Men's Tennis

  • The Firebirds are 1-0, 0-0 ECC on the season
  • Senior, Louis Mangeon made it to the Round of 32 in the ITA East Regional Championships over the weekend.
  • UDC completed the 2021-22 season with a 5-12 overall record. 
  • They return four players from their 2021-22 roster

 

Scouting Millersville Men's Tennis

  • The Marauders are currentlyu 0-0 on the season
  • Dylan Tull and Frabk Yanni and the No. 2 team of Zach Pernia and Jasper de Koning made it to the ITA Atlantic Regional Quarterfinals
  • Millersville finished the 2021-22 season with a 9-8 overall record
