Bio

Bernard S. Payton has served as sports information director at the University of the District of Columbia since 2002. His other experience includes service as director of veteran’s affairs at a UDC predecessor, Federal City College, director of alumni affairs at UDC, and coordinator of the 4H Youth Foundation at UDC.

He received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Federal City College in 1974, and a master’s degree from Central Michigan University in management in 1976. He is a member of  CoSIDA and Black CoSIDA. He is married to Carol B. Payton and they are the parents of four adult children.
