WASHINGTON, DC – University of the District of Columbia senior guard Nigel Munson and assistant men's basketball coach Terrell Stokes will be interviewed tonight by Tim Brant on WJLA/News Channel 8 SportsTalk at 9:00 p.m. tonight, February 13th, 2012.
Brant is the Vice President of Sports at ABC7/WJLA-TV, and also worked for CBS and ABC networks covering college football, the NBA, the Tour de France, and two Olympics. He also spent more than a decade as host of the popular Morning Show on WMAL Radio.
A former University of Maryland star defensive lineman and captain, Brant will talk to a fellow standout Terrapin in Coach Stokes tonight. Stokes, a former captain of Maryland's basketball team, was an All-ACC selection and led the Terps to two Sweet 16 appearances. He currently still holds the school record for assists in one game (15).
Brant will also talk to Munson, who transferred to UDC from the ACC's Virginia Tech. Munson, a former DeMatha HS standout, has made the most of his stay at the Van Ness campus, having eclipsed the 1,000-point mark for his career two weeks ago, and ranking 9th in the nation in assists per-game with an average of 6.4. Earlier today, he also earned his fourth East Coast Conference player of the week honor.
Stokes and Nigel have guided the Firebirds to a 19-3 record overall this year and a 10-2 mark in conference play. With four games left this season, they have already won eight more games than they did all of last season.
