University of the District of Columbia to Host Community Open House

WASHINGTON, DC - The University of the District of Columbia will host a Community Open House at the Sports Complex on the Van Ness Campus for the public to see the new state-of-the-art Natatorium on Saturday, April 27th from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The event features a free "open swim" period, a meet-and-greet with the new Aquatics Director, Lauren Fuchs and an opportunity to learn more general information and pick up a membership form.

The University of the District of Columbia hosted its Natatorium Grand Opening on Monday, November 26th, 2012. The facility features a 25-yard pool with six lanes, a separate diving well with two 1-meter diving boards, a spectator grandstand, offices and locker rooms.

Lauren Fuchs was hired as Aquatics Director effective September 17th, 2012. She oversees the day-to-day operations of the newly renovated Natatorium including university and communtiy programs, staffing, training and maintenance.
