Firebirds Drop Final Match to Chowan
Washington, DC: April 28, 2007— The Chowan University Hawks defeated the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds 6-1 this afternoon in Washington, DC. It was the final match of the season for the Firebirds, who finished the season with a 2-16 record. It was also the final collegiate match for UDC senior Festus Okoya, finishing his two year career with 24 singles and 16 doubles wins.

Firebirds Defeat Bisons 7-2
Washington, DC : April 6, 2007--- The Firebirds garnered their second win of the season today by defeating the Bison of Gallaudet University, 7-2, at Gallaudet. It was a very good win for the Firebirds as they swept all matches for which they had players. Gallaudet's two wins came as a result of defaults due to UDC not having players available to compete.

Firebirds Fall to Greyhounds 6-1
TOWSON, MD: MARCH 21, 2007—The Loyola College Greyhounds defeated the University of the District of Columbia Firebirds 6-1 in tennis action this afternoon at Towson University. The one bright spot for the Firebirds came in singles play when sophomore Arda Kaytan (Istanbul, Turkey) defeated Scott Gannon 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, which was a great match against a NCAA Division I opponent. The Firebirds, now 1-4 for the spring 2007 season, will return to action on March 23, in the North/South Duels in Wilson, North Carolina against the Barton College Bulldogs.

Howard Defeats UDC 7-0 in Tennis
WASHINGTON, DC: MARCH 14, 2007--The Howard University Bison defeated the UDC Firebirds Men's Tennis team, 7-0, in match play at Banneker Stadium in Washington, today. Taking the singles and doubles matches, the Bison overwhelmed the less experienced Firebirds giving them their 3rd loss this season.

Firebirds Gain First Tennis Win of Season
ST. MARY’S COLLEGE: MARCH 4, 2007—The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Men’s Tennis Team captured their first win of the spring 2007 season today when they downed the St. Mary’s College Seahawks 5-4 in St. Mary’s, Maryland. With the win the Firebirds are 1-1 for the season.

Virginia Wesleyan Defeats UDC In Tennis
WASHINGTON,D C: MARCH 2, 2007—The Virginia Wesleyan University Marlins ruined the season opener for the UDC Firebirds Men’s Tennis Team this afternoon by defeating them 7-0 in tennis action at home. The defeat was the first for new UDC Head Coach Russia Alexander as he began his tenure at the University.
