UDC LADY FIREBIRDS FALL TO BLOOMSBURG 55-45

Bloomsburg, PA: November 18, 2006—The University of the District of Columbia Lady Firebirds fell 55-45 to the Bloomsburg Lady Huskies this afternoon in the Bloomsburg Classic in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. It was the second loss of the new season for the Lady Firebirds. UDC only hit 25 percent of their field goals, while Bloomsburg made 48 percent of theirs.

Senior forward Jennifer Jones (Newark, NJ) led the Lady Firebird with a double – double 14 points, 11 rebounds and 1 assist. Ashley Alexander (Washington, DC), a junior guard, added 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists.

Bianca Lee paced the Lady Huskies to victory with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 2 assists. Colleen Kegerrets followed with 15 points, and 8 rebounds.

Jennifer Jones was named to the All-Tournament Team because of her scoring 32 points and grabbing 15 rebounds during the two-day Classic.

The 0-2  Lady Firebirds will see their next action on Tuesday, November 21, in their home season opener at 6 p.m.
