UDC Rated in USA Today ESPN Division II Top 25 Coaches’ Poll

The UDC Lady Firebirds received 17 votes in the USA Today ESPN Division II Top 25 Preseason Coaches’ Poll released on November 5, 2008. The 17 votes is recognition of the potential for the Lady Firebirds to be highly competitive during the 2008-09 season. The Poll is taken weekly through the end of the season.

The Women's Division II Bulletin, in its preseason preview wrote,"  The District of COlumbia (21-8) was one of the most improved teams in Division II last season. This year, the Lady Firebirds return a veteran roster, including super sophomore Lillian McGill (13.4 ppg, 104 rpg), who led the team in scoring." McGill was also named the 2007 Women's Independent Schools' Player of the Year.
