Women’s Basketball New Year’s Classic, January 3-4, 2009

The University of the District of Columbia Firebirds Women’s Basketball Team will host their Second Annual New Year’s Classic, January 3-4, 2009, in the Physical Activities Center. Four teams will play in the Classic, including UDC.

Chowan University of North Carolina, Columbia Union College of Takoma Park, Maryland, and Mercy College of Dobbs Ferry, New York will join UDC in the New Year’s Classic. Tip off of the Classic will be Saturday, January 3, at 4:00 p.m., when UDC plays Mercy College. Then Chowan and Columbia Union will face each other at 6:30 p.m.

The Classic continues at 1 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, when Mercy plays Columbia Union. Then UDC takes on Chowan at 3 p.m., to bring the Classic to an end. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy some exciting basketball action early in the New Year.
